BENCANA ALAM: ISU DAN HUKUM
(NATURAL DISASTER: ISSUES AND RULES)

Natural disasters are a frequent occurrence in human life in this world. It sometimes takes the form of fires, major floods, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions and others. People in this area can be a victim and killed, while others are in trouble and hardship when it occurs. These difficulties and narrowness also affect the way of worship and social affairs that occur among Muslims. Worship performed in a normal situation becomes worship performed at a critical time. This article aims to explain some of the issues of selected natural disasters and the laws associated with them. The methodology used is qualitative-based. The data was obtained based on document analysis through analysis of books related to current fiqh and websites that can be held accountable such as the website of the state mufti department, JAKIM and others. The data obtained are reviewed based on inductive, descriptive and comparative approaches. The result is that, among others, performing prayers by wearing wet clothes with sweat and flood water is valid and giving zakat assistance to victims of natural disasters is a must if there is no other source. In addition, building houses of worship of non -Muslims that were destroyed and cleaning them up due to disasters is not necessary. The implications of this study are to increase the understanding of Muslims on the abovementioned issues and ensure that their worship continues to run smoothly. In addition, they can tolerate some aspects of the relationship with non-Muslims and cannot accept some elements.
