Study of Comparative Literature Between two Nigerian Poets: Alabi and Gimba in Social Poetry

Abstract

This paper examines an aspect of classical Literature. The research attempts to find out the interrelation between Literature work in various civilizations and cultures in Nigeria, particularly in the aspect of poems that discourse on social issues and problems. The aim is to unify the ideas and concepts of Nigerian Poets on Social Poetry. The methodologies adopted for the research are Historical, Descriptive, and Analytical. The research findings include Nigerian Literature work is full of many classical social poetries, it also discovered the unity of thoughts and ideas in some areas, despite the differences in the background of the poets i.e. Arabic/English/Hausa/Yoruba/Fulani. The paper concludes that classical literature is a clear vision and reflection of any society no matter what language it is used in the presentation
