Glimpses Of Studies On (When And Then) And Their Factor In The Holy Qur’an: Grammatical Analysis

Abstract

This research examined the difficulties meanings of some prepositions in the Arabic text and the paper focuses on these two prepositions (When and then) because they look alike in writing but has different meaning. Therefore, the study aims to present the meanings of (When and then) and their functions in the holy Qur’an, this shows the multiple methods and the way to use each of it, and also showcase the secrets behind its usage which includes understanding the meanings has they are used in the text according to the different opinion of the grammarians mentioned in their books, while limiting their provisions to their various meanings. The researcher looked at the Arabic grammar which includes many topics and sections, including preposition among others, I therefore decided to study (When and then), which has different and several meaning in their usage. Perhaps the important of this study is to examining the value and benefit of its rulings, types and uses of the preposition (When and then) in the verses of the Holy Qur’an. In conclusion, the paper explains and clarifies the opinion of grammarians on the usage of the both prepositions. It is important that with its frequent use, the researcher find that its meanings need to be defined because of its difficult to differentiate between these meanings due to their mixing with each other, for this reason, this study was to shed light on the meanings of this tool to determine the significance, clarify the intent, and explain the purpose in terms of parsing before the scholars of exegesis.
