Keywords:
Arabic language, Arabic debate module, non-native speakers, debate activities, speaking skillsAbstract
Arabic is one of the world’s major languages and is used in various domains at the global level. The importance of mastering Arabic is evident across multiple fields, including education, economics, culture, and religion. One effective method for developing proficiency in Arabic is through debate activities. This article aims to examine perceptions of Arabic language mastery among non-native speakers using a debate-based learning module. The study employed descriptive quantitative design and was conducted using an online questionnaire involving a total of 318 respondents. The questionnaire served as the primary research instrument. The findings indicate that most respondents provided positive feedback regarding the need to develop an Arabic language learning module grounded in debate activities. The results further suggest that a well-designed debate-based module can enhance students’ interest in mastering Arabic, particularly in relation to speaking skills. In addition, the module content should emphasise contemporary learning elements, such as the use of infographics and interactive features, to ensure the development of a high-quality learning module.
