THE HOLY QURAN AND ITS IMPACT ON NIGERIAN ARAB POETRY A STUDY IN THE PRODUCTION OF MUHAMMAD AL-AMIN AHMAD

Abstract

The Qur’an incapacitated the Arabs at the first time it was revealed, to the extent they said it was magic that captivated their thoughts and minds, and its rhetorical aspect enchanted the thoughts of their genius poets and wise thinkers, sequel to that they concentrate on reciting it day and knight as well as fetching some of its expressions and verses to their poetry texts in order to decorate it, and design it in the form of Qur’anic expressive aesthetics. Due to that, this paper wants to examine the impact of the Noble Qur’an on the production of Nigerian Arabic Poetry through the term (Intertextuality) with the poems of Ustaz Muhammad al-Amin as case study.  The aim of this study is to present a picture of the Qur’anic intertextuality in Nigerian poetry through the poetry of Muhammad al-Amin as his skill was evident in employing his images in his poetic texts in a remarkable way, and therefore the researchers used the descriptive analysis approach as a means of achieving the desired goal.
