Abstract

This article examines the application of the Maqasid Dakwah approach to understanding the fiqh of ikhtilat, addressing a critical issue faced by contemporary Islamic communities: the challenges of managing gender interactions in educational and workplace settings while upholding Islamic principles. This issue is compounded by the tension between adhering to Islamic guidelines and accommodating the realities of modern social environments. Utilizing primary sources such as the Qur'an, Sunnah, and scholarly perspectives, this study evaluates how Maqasid Dakwah principles—such as the preservation of ethics, community welfare, and harm prevention—can provide a comprehensive framework for addressing ikhtilat. The findings indicate that integrating Maqasid Dakwah into the discourse on ikhtilat not only ensures the preservation of Islamic values but also facilitates practical solutions aligned with contemporary needs. The study offers a holistic approach for educators, policymakers, and community leaders to establish ethical and effective guidelines for gender interactions in diverse social contexts.
