Mimetic of Alabi's entombment of words in the eulogy of sheikh Yahya Murtadho Agoudi Al-iloriy

This paper discourses Eulogy Poetry as one of the common poetries in the history of Arabic Literature in West Africa, Nigeria in particular. The moorage between Arabic culture and Nigeria Arabic poets is Islam, this springhead has always been the helm of the ideologies and thoughts of African Arabic Literates. The paper identifies Alabi as one of the most accurate Nigerian Arabic poets in elegiac poetry in his commiseration of his mentor Sheikh Yahya Agodi. The research adopts historical and analytical methodology. The research findings include: Arabic elegiac poem in Nigeria is classical, secondly, Alabi’s Elegiac work is in line with the rules and principle of elegiac art. The paper concludes by declaring Nigeria literary work in Arabic suitable for research.
